Situated by Lake Orivesi in Kitee, Karjalan Helmi offers en suite accommodation with kitchen facilities and forest or lake views. Next to each cottage is a small private beach. "If you are looking for peace, scroll no further, you have found it here! We stayed in an apartment close to the water, we felt close to nature and a true sense of tranquility. The apartment sticks to the traditional wooden design with traditional Finnish textiles on the walls, floors, and table - resulting in a space that feels cosy and warm, no matter the weather outside :) We felt true hospitality from Pasi and Anneli. We will be back in the summer without a doubt."

The cottage I stayed in was clean and had all amenities I could think of (even a dishwasher and an ironing board). I highly enjoyed the fireplace and sauna."

"Wi-Fi was not stable. When we booked it we did not recognise linen was not included so it kind of hurt to pay the extra, especially because it was pretty much the maximum we wanted to spend on the night and did not expect it. But I think I understand, this place is rather for families and longer stays, not really for a couple for only one night. Maybe we would have booked anyhow. Don’t regret doing so, just felt a bit trapped. It is in the description, so can’t blame the owner, it was just not expected at all."

"Hellepäivänä majapaikka järven äärellä oli upea. Uimarantaan oli sadan metrin kävely, ja Oriveden vesi oli virkistävää. Huoneisto oli kahdelle tilava, ja sieltä löytyi kaikki tarvittava hiustenkuivaajaa lukuun ottamatta."

"12月末に訪れ年越しまで滞在しました。北極圏に行ってみようと思い立ち、ヘルシンキから車を運転して行きました。ロヴァニエミやサーリセルカなど有名な町はありますが、我々にとっては宿泊費が非常に高いです。そこでブオツォという小さな集落にあるこの宿泊施設を見つけ、写真等で判断して予約しましたがこれは正解でした。まず、オーロラを見ようとすると前述の町は明るいので、結局ツアー等に参加する必要が生まれるのではないかと思いますが、ブオツォは街灯が少なくホテルの周りは森であり、敷地内ですぐ観測できます。宿のご主人夫婦は親切です。サウナ小屋や焚火小屋(バーベキュー可)などを利用させていただきました。サウナは一人10ユーロでした。薪を熱源とした本物サウナで、「温まったら外に出て雪に飛び込め」と言われ、実際にそのようにしました。施設の利用についてはオーナーから積極的に売り込んでくることはないので、黙っていたら何も起こらないと思います。コミュニケーションをとっていってください。買い物は集落に小さなマーケットがありました。大きなスーパーはサーリセルカまで行くことになります(自動車で一時間かかります)。なお隣のタンカヴァーラ村まで行くと、レストランがあります。いずれにしても自動車での移動が必須ですので、この条件に合う旅行者には強くお勧めします。"
