Cheerful Cottage

"Probably the nicest property I have stayed at. We loved everything about this property. Great communication with the owner in advance. The host was so friendly when we arrived. House was very cosy and welcoming, candles were lit and lights were on. We were delighted to find that tea bags, coffee, sugar and milk were in rhe house and even a bottle of wine. Loads of kitchen items. Plenty of hot water and heating. Fire could be lit and loads of firewood was provided. Board games and books were also available and local tourist information. Beds and duvets were very comfortable."

"We enjoyed the hearty fire Gerry had going for us when we arrived and the fully equipped kitchen. Gerry took the time to greet us and ensure we had a most comfortable stay. We found the cottage decor delightful and the location is superb. Next time we must book a table at the nearby Cronin's Sheebeen- menu looked great and the pub had a lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed walks on our doorstep and on the nearby beaches. Westport is a real favourite for its characterful streets and beautiful seascapes. Beautiful cottage, morning birdsong, a great welcome- we couldn't ask for more."

"We appreciate that the cottage was clean and tidy and comfortable. And thanks to Gerry for accepting our three dogs. Note there was plenty of room in the cottage for a family. Also, our host had milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine as a welcome. The location was brilliant to travel around Mayo. With a number of beaches close by. Also, a short walk to the Harbour location with a number of shops, coffee, and food was a short walk away. We are already looking forward to staying in the Cheerful Cottage again.
