"Great service and great food! Butler service is exceptional and all our needs were met within minutes. We traveled with our family of four and I must say this place is a gem away from the busy city life. Beautiful views and very calm environment surrounded by nature. Staff very welcoming, attentive and helpful. The service was that of a five start hotel standard. About half hour drive from Kandy, it's located by the Mahaweli river and has a beautiful pool. Special thanks goes to our Butler Mayantha for being very professional and giving us a five star experience. Definitely recommended."

"We loved this place. It was a quiet haven outside of the chaos of busy Kandy. The pool was beautiful, the cabana was fabulous and the staff were so lovely and accommodating. We loved it here."

"View is amazing, you can see river and some smaller animals running in the morning, all from bed :) Terrace is great for the morning coffee and meditation Interior of cabaña is completely wooden, very well made. Bathroom also very nice and functional"

"Lovely family run establishment"

"The Guest House is located on a central street of Unawatuna village. To reach the nearest magnificent beach you have to walk just 5-7 minutes, it's really very close. The rooms are equipped with air conditioners. More expensive rooms have anti-mosquito curtains over the beds. The House is quiet, nothing disturbed our night rest much. It's perfect for staying a couple of nights on your journey around Sri Lanka. But we were satisfied with living there for 2 weeks, too."

"We had a wonderful stay at River Edge Bungalow and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape. The room was beautiful, set right in the jungle with balcony doors that opened out to lush greenery — such a relaxing place to wake up each morning. The bed was big and very comfortable, making it easy to unwind after a day out. The host was incredibly helpful and attentive, and the bungalow keeper was so friendly — nothing was ever too much to ask, which made the whole stay feel very personal and welcoming. The location is peaceful and remote, perfect if you’re looking to switch off and enjoy nature. We also loved Lassi, the sweet resident dog, who made the stay even more special. Overall, it’s great value for money for such a unique and tranquil setting. All in all, a lovely jungle retreat with warm hospitality — we’d happily stay again."

"Hillcrest Ella has really amazing views. You can view the entire hill range including the Little Adam’s peak, Ravana Falls and few others. If the timing is right, you can also see the famous Sri Lanka train pass by through the mountains. The hotel was also very sweet to give us an upgrade when we informed them it was our anniversary trip."

"Right on the ocean, not just a kite surfer crowd. The rooms are basic, but have everything you need. A fridge and a cattle would be perfect. The staff is very friendly and the owner tries everything to make you happy. The kitchen could do better, but you can hear the ocean when you go to sleep and thats a very good reason to love the place."
