Château de Clemency

"Everything about our stay at Chateau Clemency was just right. The comfort and quality of room and its facilities, to the shared spaces, especially the lovely kitchen which had everything we needed to self-cater. We thoroughly enjoyed using the wood fire in the secret space across from the castle."

"The castle has been beautifully restored, and the rooms are designed with great taste. The host is very welcoming and knows how to share the castle’s mysterious atmosphere with the guests in a charming way. There’s a well-stocked fridge in the shared kitchen, which was a real treat. It’s filled with drinks and snacks you can purchase if you get thirsty. Parking was easy (though one Belgian guest with an oversized car could definitely use a refresher on how to park considerately)."

"The Wi-Fi wasn’t always perfect, but it generally worked well enough. There were quite a few spiders and old webs, which I had to bravely shield my partner from 😁. A bit more cleaning in that regard would be nice—though admittedly, it does add to the authentic castle atmosphere."

"Lovely old Chateau tastefully renovated with spectacular artwork and yet retaining lots of the original features. Great care taken to my booking by the owner, lovely large room, comfortable bed, efficient washing facilities, honesty bar, great communal kitchen. This was a great find for us and well worth a return visit, loved our two days."

"The chateau is very quirky and a fascinating place to stay. The kitchen was well equipped and it was great to have our own fridge and an honesty system for drinks and snacks (although we didn’t actually use them). We liked having plenty of space and a living room area."
