"We had a wonderful stay at The Waters in Motueka. The location is fantastic — peaceful, beautifully situated, and a perfect base to explore the area while still feeling like a proper retreat. What truly made the difference, though, was the hospitality. Lou and Aiden are incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely caring hosts. You instantly feel welcome — not like a booking, but like a guest they’re truly happy to have. Breakfast deserves a special mention: lovingly prepared, high quality, and simply delicious — exactly the kind of start to the day you hope for while traveling. And then there are the “resident managers”: Darcie the dog (adorable and full of charm) and Vivienne the cat (equally sweet). Their little daily presence made the whole place feel even more homey and special. If you’re coming to Motueka, don’t overthink it — stay here. We’d happily return anytime."

"Everything was incredible. Room, Location, surroundings, Staff. I loved all the wildlife, the birds, the rabbits that you can see everywhere surrounding the property. Absolutely beautiful."

"Due to a confusion over our booking we were moved to a substantial and beautifully equipped apartment with the most wonderful views towards the sea and over the olive grove. Owners went out of their way to overcome the booking problem. They have two delightful children."

"場所はわかりやすい。幹線道路沿いに Motel の道路標識が出ている。アパートタイプではなく部屋ごとに独立した棟になっており静か。部屋の目の前まで車の乗り入れ可。 部屋は広く、レストラン2人掛けぐらいの大きさのイスとテーブル、2人掛けのソファー、ダブルベッド、TV。フルキッチン付き、冷蔵庫と電子レンジ、電気ポット、IHコンロ付き。冷蔵庫にビン入りミルク、他にコーヒー紅茶が用意されている。暖房あり、12月末に泊まったが結構寒く暖房入れた。シャワーブースとトイレも使いやすい。コンセントはAU/NZ型(ハの字)が部屋内に数か所。WiFiは快適に使用できた。"

"After a busy day of driving from Hokitika, we decided to split our drive to Kaikoura by staying at this hotel for one evening. Upon check-in the young woman clearly explained the restaurant hours, breakfast plan and how to use the outdoor jacuzzi which we definitely utilized for star-gazing later that evening. Since the hotel is literally in the middle of mountains and valleys and rivers, the views from the hotel/restaurant/villa were fantastic. We spent a few hours star-gazing the Milky Way which is our passion and one of the objectives for staying here for the evening. Given the hotel's location, the restaurant menu was quite limited which is a shame but understood given its remoteness. Lovely stay and would definitely recommend this hotel for those considering....."
