"Location is, without traffic, about 15 mins from the airport. When you book, send a message to the hotel ( it will go to the owner ) and ask for a transfer. It is 15000 CAF ( £20 / €23 ) each way and that can be added to your check out total. NOTE: No cards accepted, either pay cash in local / USD / Euro. Rooms are fairly basic but serve the purpose and all have mosquitoe nets, when it’s that time of the year and also air conditioning. There’s a pool which is lovely. The owner is French and a lovely guy but speaks no English. Make sure you download Google Translate, it will come in handy. The WiFi is surprisingly pretty good, even when around the pool."

"The breakfast probably could be a little better as it really consisted of bread , tea / coffee and a juice. The price per night is good though, so you can’t expect a Ritz breakfast when you’re not paying Ritz prices."

"The best place to discover the area and at only 15 minutes from the Airport. Bernard was a real gentleman he run the place with passion and professionality. Room was spacious and comfortable. Pool was a plus! Book there you will be Happy."

"Bernard the host pulled out all the stops for our son’s birthday to make this a trip to remember! Food was excellent, along with a nice location, pool, clean room and quite comfy bed."

"Baobab Soleil was a great stay. It's in a quiet and quite remote place, surrounded by (naturally) loads of gorgeous baobabs - walks around the area were really nice for bird and nature-spotting. The grounds of the hotel are really large, beautifully looked after, and hosts loads of birds. The swimming pool is massive and incredibly refreshing after a long walk. My room was large and comfortable, and had a nice terrace with a full-sized, cushioned banquette for lounging. The food here was fantastic. Lots of Senegalese and French dishes on offer. Breakfast was simple, but plentiful and tasty. Bernard, Ba, Buba and the rest of the team were very friendly and always helpful. Ba especially kept me ever-entertained with his charm and wit (and fluent English!). Trips to Bandia and transport elsewhere were easily sorted by the hotel."

"The only downside I can mention about this otherwise amazing place is the lack of hot water. Even in the Senegalese heat, sometimes you just really want a hot shower. "

"I am a keen bird watcher. Walks around Baobab Soleil produced many interesting varieties of birds. In addition I needed a good rest after a very intense few weeks in Uganda. Baobab Soleil met this need admirably. It was quiet, away from the city (Dakar) and fairly close to the airport. In addition Bernard, the proprietor, was very helpful (eg he got me easily set up for a visit to the nearby Bandia Wildlife Reserve (1 km away) which was amazing."
