"I can't recommend La Chimba enough, mostly because of how kind and generous the staff were. I was moving around South America and they very kindly stored my luggage and were so trustworthy and communicative. There is a lovely feeling when you check in, all the staff and volunteers are at reception hanging out there and it's really welcoming. The beds are so comfortable and the dorms have a unique layout with your own little 'cubby'. The showers and facilities are good and they have lots of events. I stayed elsewhere in Santiago for a few nights and I would definitely suggest La Chimba. It's well situated to the centre but also you're halfway to the Northern areas like Providencia and Barrio Italia so it's a perfect centre point. Thanks so much again to the staff there for their kindness :)"

"Hostel was very big but well cleaned, full of stuff to do and the atmosphere was super nice and friendly. The room was exactly what we needed and it even had something we did not see at all during our trip thus far - a room heater!!!"

"Great hostel ! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The place is huge and well decorated. We love the fact that there are so many places where you can relax or share with other travellers (they also host events on some nights). The room was nice and the shared bathroom and the kitchen were always cleaned"

"- The staff here were really friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. They were honestly really great. - Location is great. only a 20 min walk to the main Plaza. - The offered free ear plugs. They do play loud music right until the really early hours of the evening. - Hostel is super social."

"- We didn't know about the location prior to going. it seems to be where all the bars/clubs are. You can here the music coming from all of this places throughout the hostel as well as there own. I did put my headphones in to drown at the music and that seemed to work."

"Although the hostel is in the ‘nightlife area’ we couldn’t hear any noise from our bedroom. Would avoid walking alone at night but the staff inform you of this too."
