"The location is truly extraordinary. The hacienda is located next to a nature reserve amidst beautiful vegetation and impressive landscape. The hacienda can only be reached with a tarabita, a cable car crossing a canyon with spectacular views onto a waterfall. The hosts went out of their way to make our stay special. They also prepared local food, including the trouts that we could fish in a pond right next to the restaurant."

"Lovely breakfast in the patio consisting of coffee/tea + your choice off eggs + toast/arepas + fruits/yogurt + juice. Friendly and attentive staff. Situated in close proximity to the Chaquiñán trail popular for runners and mountain bikers, the Scala shopping mall, and the center of Cumbayá where there are many bars and restaurants."

"Comfortable, centrally located hotel in Riobamba within walking distance of the main markets and train station (though as of early 2026 there are no trains running though there is a very good artisan market set up in it), comfortable beds and hot water. Staff were especially helpful, assisting us with getting a taxi/guide to Chimborazo and proactively offering us the choice between a street-facing room with a better view (but more street noise) or a quiet interior room (but lacking the mountain view). That was an especially appreciated and thoughtful touch."
